Suncatcher Workshops
8th June, morning and afternoon
As part of the Surrey Artists Open Studio I will be running two sun catcher workshops on 8th June 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm. During the two-hour workshop you will learn how to cut and grind glass. You will then decide on your design – perhaps a heart, Butterfly, Dragonfly or something abstract. You will then create your glass piece ready for an overnight firing.

Festive Fusing Fun
Friday 30th November, Friday 7th December & Sunday 9th December
Back by popular demand come and make your own glass Christmas decorations. A full day workshop (10am – 3pm). Here’s what to look forward to:
- Introduction: After a short safety talk and orientation we will go over the activities of the day before everyone gets “hands on”. We also take this opportunity to introduce each student.
- Morning Session: First we will take a look at some samples of work which can be produced in the class, as well as examples of best practice. We will talk about how glass fuses together and the different effects that can be achieved. By mid-morning we will try and get “hands on” so that you can feel a level of achievement before lunch.
- Lunch: A sandwich lunch will be provided in the studio and a pause to recharge our creative batteries.
- Afternoon Session: This session after lunch is more open to creative experimentation allowing you to reach your personal objectives. We will load the kiln for overnight firing. Your creations will be ready the next day and delivered.
